So I went hard at work the other night gathering together a few starter pieces based on those awesome inspiration bottles. Here’s what I came up with!
First up, the sectional. We currently have a sectional that is too large for our space and although we loved its red color at first, it has become quite the task to work around. Especially when you are as burnt out on red as we are. So… a new sectional must be in the works. Something a little more neutral this time around. We love this one pictured above from Ikea. It’s super comfy but still has clean, tailored lines that we love in modern design. We like the light gray color, a little more color than the typical beige. Plus, it comes in at under $1000 which gives it major bonus points!
The armchair is a piece that we already own, which works perfectly with the new direction we’re headed. Along with the bookshelf console that I talked about here. The majority of our furniture that we already own is a dark espresso finish. So, we’re looking to go light with new pieces like the sectional, accessories, and wall color. A few new throw pillows from various stores, mostly West Elm and Etsy, vases and lighting. I love using accessories as pops of color throughout the room. They’re an easy change and usually inexpensive too, compared to say, a red sectional.
I also included the small office area in the space, just to give an idea of how the two spaces will work together. We’re still diggin’ the parsons desk and chose a simple clear side chair to pair with it. Like I’ve mentioned, the space is small, so anything added that doesn’t take up visual space is a plus!
Anyways, we’re still missing many items, window panels, more accessories and color, but you guys get the gist of it. We’re totally excited to tackle our first floor now that we have a starting point!
Enjoy the weekend!

I’m loving the sectional, even though we definitely don’t have room for it in our house.
