Lets Talk Parsons

It’s no secret. The parsons desk is around just about each and every corner. And why not? There’s not much to love about this go-to furniture piece. Whether you’re looking for a desk, console, or bedside table this pretty lady does the job. We’re talking some serious double duty.

Which is exactly why she’s our newest family member ๐Ÿ™‚

We’ve been looking to find a desk for our small corner in our living room. And with it’s multi-functional capabilities, it’s a no-brainer. Who knows what our future office space will look like in our next home. In all reality it is possible to have an even small area than we currently have (please no!). So, with so much uncertainty and the dire need for a resting spot for Mr. Mac, we made the move. She is the perfect option for such an endless list of possible functions. Honestly I have no idea what has taken us so long (perhaps our wallet). I’ve been eyeing this beauty for what feels like a decade without a doubt in my mind that I’d regret the purchase. And the hubs will ย now second my ear to ear smile now that she’s finally on her way home. We chose the polished white finish because duh, what is better than white? Yea, polished white. I can’t wait to see her in all her glossy glory. And she’s the perfect dimensions at only 48″ wide. Her new wall comes in at 52 with only inches to spare. She’ll be as snug as a bug. It’ll be as if I planned it or something crazy ๐Ÿ˜‰

And now for a little inspiration of your own. Get your parson on.

Etsy Exposed 3/28/11

A few weeks ago I ran across an absolutely jaw-dropping Etsy shop (Todd Manring Design) and I think I’m ready to stop hoarding all the beauty for myself and share a little. Just a little. So, if you have an extra wad of cash lying aroundย I would highly advise you to check it out. And if not… than you can join me and rest of the penny pinching pool in some serious inspiration overload! We’re talking rustic, vintage, refurbished, farmhouse, character galore. Here’s a little Todd Manring Designs for you ๐Ÿ™‚

The special dates wooden signs are definitely on my to-do list.

In fact, several if not all of these make my DIY list. Now, if I only had an endless supply of reclaimed barnwood and 3-5 additional hours in my day. Meh..

Come to Pappa..

… in the words of my 5-year old nephew.

Wow, is it a crappy day over here in Cincinnati or what? After a few days of 70 degree weather the 40’s are not feeling so hot. On the bright side, earlier this week West Elm released a handful of new items from their spring collection. Oh happy day! I learned recently that not everyone is even familiar with West Elm. Lets just say that if you’re finding yourself in that crowd you are seriously missing out. If my wallet allowed I may just purchase every item available on their website. They have everything ranging from furniture, rugs, lighting, window treatments, to adorable little iron owls to set on your coffee table. And no, this is not a sponsored post. Just a small town girl spilling her guts about a little obsession. What of it.

Now, all jokes aside. If you do not have a minimum of one hour set aside for viewing pleasure, do not click on this link. Seriously. If you have any plans in the next few hours… I warned you. You will have the instant urge to completely redesign your entire home. It’s a given. Okay, back to their spring collection. What better day than a wet, rainy, no sunshine, freezy cold one to share a few favorites with you? And for those of you not enjoying the lovely Cincy weather, lets just consider this the cherry on top your day ๐Ÿ™‚

Their pillow collection is always something to keep your eye on. Beautiful prints at awesome prices! This poppy seeds cover is the perfect pop of color in a neutral space while the dots pillow makes enough of graphic statement to work on its own.

I’m drooling over this rope bowl. Perfect catch-all for en entryway console or I could even see it played up in a group of vases.

Either way, David Starkย has my heart. My design heart that is.

Moving on to the kitchen. We have yes and yes, please. Retro inspired magnetic timers. Need I say more.

And OWL measuring cups. Are you kidding me?

Adorable seagrass striped baskets.

For the lemon in everyone’s heart. Sunshine tea towels.

I absolutely adore the chevron texture in these side tables. You can hold my books anytime.

A simple print would be oh so perfect in this patterned frame.

Now, moving outdoors. The real fun begins. If I do not have this nest chair underneath the willow tree in my backyard before the end of the summer I will throw myself onto the ground and proceed with a 3 year old temper tantrum.

With one of these wire lanterns hanging above please.

Or possibly just a few of these terracotta candelpots or piller holders?

And just when you think you’ve seen it all. Buh-bam! The most adorable salad/ dinner plate combo known to man. Painted brushstrokes and all. Pitter-patter..

Oh, when I said favorites I meant nearly their entire spring catalog ๐Ÿ™‚
