DIY Painted Mason Jars

I’ve been seeing a ton of new mason jar ideas floating around Pinterest lately, so I decided to try my hand at a few! The storage department in my office area for things like pens, pencils, paint brushes, etc. has really been lacking. I love using things for unintended purposes, so mason jar = instant paint brush holder. The process was incredibly easy. It’s crazy that I haven’t tried it before. All you need are a few mason jars, acrylic paint in your color choice, and maybe 5 minutes, tops.

I especially love how you can achieve absolutely any color and keep the glossy glass finish on the exterior. Genius. I only made two of these for now, but I’d love to make a few more. I went with a paintbrush holder, but I could easily see them used for several other things. Pencils, flowers, makeup brushes?

These few small pops of color are just the inspiration I need at my desk :)

How about you guys? Any mason jar projects? Anyone else attempted the painted option? I’d love to see what other uses are out there for them!

  1. It looks great and goes so well with the art above your desk! I haven’t tried this before, but I think it’s a great way to get organized. I’m thinking kid craft supplies!

What a great idea. Never thought of painting the inside of the jar. How clever!!
