Yesterday I shared what Zoey’s room is currently looking like, and mentioned a few minor details as far as what direction we’re headed with it. I threw together a mood board, at least a month ago, when I was just beginning the process. I made it for my own personal use, but why not share with you guys! We’re eventually hoping for the girls to share a room some day, sooner rather than later, so we’re designing with that in mind. When I put together mood boards they are sometimes product specific, but more often they’re just a reference. So, the plans below are more representative of the look and feel of the room. Plus, as I said, this is around a month old and I’ve veered off from the original already.
I’m not going to go into the details on each piece individually, however the links are listed above for those interested.
The walls in the space are a neutral gray, which we plan to keep, and we’ll be pulling in color from fabrics and accessories. Sound familiar? I’ve already shared the bedding and furniture selections, but left the most important details for now The inspiration for the entire room comes from the flower print fabric in the center of the mood board. I absolutely fell in love with it the moment I saw it. I’m a big fan of fabrics that have several colors to pull in additional fabrics with, and this one is does just that. The other two fabrics layered beneath were suppose to illustrate the sheet set and headboard fabric, but those have changed since I made this. As we already shared, we went with a yellow striped sheet set and plan to DIY an upholstered headboard in a deep coral color. Can’t get enough of the blogoshpere’s coral sensation. Count us in!
As for the rest of the selections, we haven’t quite purchased much, although we did snag a similar rug on One Kings Lane yesterday! Whoop, whoop! And I’m working on a lamp project as we speak
Now that we’re all on the same page, stay tuned. You know we’ll keep you guys updated as we go!
