Two.

This past weekend we celebrated Zoey’s second birthday with family and friends, but yesterday was the actual day of her birthdate. Ricky took the day away from work and we decided to spend it together as a family. It was one of the best days we’ve had in a while. Nothing crazy, just some quality family time :)

We woke up early and made the traditional super secret birthday pancakes.

(pink pancakes with sprinkles!)

Then we all hopped in the car and headed to the Newport Aquarium for the day. Aka, Zoey’s absolute favorite place on Earth. She’s crazy about fish.

We grabbed some lunch at Tom + Chee afterwards. If you’re into grilled cheese and tomato soup, this place is right up your alley. Dude, a grilled cheese donut. Yes, please.

The girls were pretty wiped out at this point, so we all delighted in an afternoon nap… at the same time. If you’re a parent to multiples you can probably confirm that this is a rarity. It was divine.

Followed up with plenty of playing time with new b-day presents. This girl made out well thanks to so many generous friends & fam, and she is enjoying every minute of it.

We topped off the night with a nice family dinner at home and movie night. Zoey’s current fav – Despicable Me. Which I can’t complain about. That movie it pretty hilarious.

I’m still having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that my first born baby girl is growing into little girl. She’s learning new things so quickly and picking up on every word we say. (<–Yikes) It’s been so much to watch her explore her new world and take in everything around her. It’s really impossible to imagine how much joy a child can bring into your life until it happens. She makes every day just that much sweeter.

I love you Zoey Jean. Happy 2nd Birthday :)

      Thanks Megan,

It is hard to watch Zoey (our two-year-old) grow into a little girl, but SO rewarding :) Just wish it would slow down a bit!
