Remember our DIY Vertical Wall Planter from this past summer? Well, we temporarily added a few more planters for the winter and it’s gone from exhibit one to exhibit two 🙂
It’s officially our countdown to Christmas calendar!
We used a few more of the same 80 cent galvanized planters from Ikea and a $5 bag of fake snow from Michaels to fill them. The ornaments came from Target’s dollar section. I think I ended up grabbing four packs of them.
I used the same circle punch from Lizzy’s crib mobile project to cut out the black circles. It was a heavy cardstock that I already had on hand and I just used chalk for the numbers and some double-side tape to attach them!
The ornaments themselves are also labeled with stick-on numbers I picked up at Staples. Super easy and adorable!
Every morning when we wake up (or whenever we finally work up the courage to face the cold outside) we pop the ornament of the day on the mini tree outside. I found this little guy at Home Depot for under $20! We threw on some white lights and placed him in the planter that we keep on the front porch anyway.
And since we’re a few days behind on sharing, here’s an updated pic!
It’s going to be a pretty full house once day 25 comes around, but I’m thinking that’ll just add to the cuteness of it all.
So, what kind of Christmas projects are you guys working on? Any fun countdowns/ advent calendars? I’d love to see everyone else’s spin on it!
PS – It’s officially Christmas week here at the blog! We’ll be sharing all of our holiday decorating throughout the remainder of this week and I’m SUPER excited about it!! We don’t usually share a whole lot in blog world for holidays of any kind, but I’ve been dying to change that and the time has finally come! Check back for some really fun stuff coming up!
