Office Makeover + Giveaway

At the beginning of the year our kitchen cabinets got a serious organizational boost, and since then I’ve been itching to bring some order to the rest of the house. So, when Martha Stewart contacted me to try out her new Wall Manager (ok, not Martha herself. Let’s be real here people.) I jumped at the opportunity. My office area had some major flaws, one of those being the lack of storage. It’s temporarily located just inside the entry of our home, but temporary or not, it still needs to function. This is the main zone for all things blog related, bill paying, dr. appointments, etc. In other words, it gets some serious traffic.

A second issue, that I’ve wanted to update for quite some time, is the dot wall art. If I’m going to be stuck staring at a wall, it better be inspirational. Now, as much as I love the dot art, I’m really drawn towards more of an inspirational board, where I can pin pretty things and swap them in and out easily, as I’d like. And this is where our new Wall Manager comes into play! It’s part of Martha’s Martha Stewart Home Office with Avery line, available exclusively through Staples.

Umm, whoa. I heart this thing. I’ve accumulated quite the adorable collection of office supplies, and it’s always been stuffed in the desk drawers. Never again. Look how adorable it all looks on display. I’m obsessed. And I’ll be honest; I was a bit weary of installing something so “office geared” near the front door in fear that it might look too cluttered. Wrong. So wrong. It’s fabulous, and makes me smile every time I’m near.

Now, let’s talk installation. I consider myself pretty handy, so I wasn’t too worried, but man, do they make it easy on you. Each piece of the wall manager clips into a separate backing that is secured to the wall. This may be my favorite feature, in that it makes swapping out the boards super convenient. Say I want to switch up the calendar and the bulletin board, done. The back plates also come with tiny levelers built in, so making everything straight on the wall is a breeze.

I’ve been having way too much fun pinning up inspirational quotes and pics of the girls. Nothing makes me smile more.

And I love that there’s a nice spot for my planner and a notebook. They’re too pretty not to be staring back at me and it’s amazing have the desk space cleared.

I finally have a permanent home for my earphones, using these cute little hooks that slide right into the boards. And I’ll always know where my phone is.. well, the odds are better.

I’m moving into a new house on May 1 and will FINALLY have an office to myself! I’d use it to spruce up my new space which will otherwise be subjected to a desk filled with cups and a calendar thumb-tacked on the wall.

I’d LOVE to use this in several places! I think the board is a great way to organize kitchen related tasks like clipped coupons, shopping lists, displaying kid art and photos, etc. And one with my craft and gift wrapping work space wouldn’t go amiss. And, finally, who wouldn’t want one above their work desk? Those post it notes stuck to my computer monitor are getting in the way of my Feng Shui!
