Kitchen Reveal!

Check this baby out! Ugh..

Orange Oak Galore! Here’s a tip. If you are going to stain your kitchen cabinets in a shade of orange, do not make the floors in the same exact shade, and definitely never pull it into the wall color as well. If you do, this is what will happen:

We completely gutted this kitchen. New cabinets, new countertops, new appliances, the works. And new floors are ready to be installed. We’ll have that update soon! So take a look at the after 🙂

Cannot wait to lay those new floors. They’ll be the same as the ones seen here in the nursery! And a few more pics of the kitchen because I know you guys love that eye candy.

You can see in this pic where the new floors will meet up with those in the nursery. There’s nothing better than seamless floors throughout a home. It  will bring everything together and keeps a home from feeling choppy (yes I probably made this word up).

A bowl of real lemons would add a great pop of color in any kitchen.  Unfortunately they would just go to waste in our house, so a cute picture will do just the same.

I don’t have a before picture of this wall but it was just a blank slate. No cabinets, no wine rack, just wall.

So I’d say the kitchen didn’t turn out half bad. Honestly, considering this renovation started about 3 years ago (it was the first thing we did after moving in) I don’t remember the majority of my reasons for the selections we made. For instance, my dream kitchen these days consists of entirely white. So how we ended up with a black granite counter and backsplash is still to be explained. And I don’t think I’ve ever been a huge fan of maple, but I love it in our house. Not to mention the plum walls, although I again love them, not sure where this idea came from. Regardless, I think everything works pretty well together.
